Las medidas fueron firmadas la noche del miércoles tras su jura como jefe de Estado y los detalles se conocieron el jueves. Parte de esa emergencia incluye un tema estratégico y crucial para su gestión: el control de la migración irregular, ya que durante la campaña Kast prometió expulsiones masivas, construcción de centros de detención y convertir la inmigración clandestina en un delito. Uno de sus decretos busca declarar como zona militar el sector “más vulnerable” de la frontera con Bolivia y otorga mayores poderes a las Fuerzas Armadas y de seguridad en las regiones de Arica y Parinacota, Tarapacá y Antofagasta.
